Floors

The floors got started a couple of days late, but they are looking fabulous! Here is Clemente installing the hard wood in the living, dining, kitchen and family rooms:

We are using an engineered wood because it can be glued directly to the cement slab foundation (unlike the solid version which would have added height to the floor which we didn't want). I didn't know, but this type of engineered floor can still be sanded and finished onsite. The red oak veneer is thick and can be sanded and refinished as many times as a solid floor, although the way our guys are finishing it they assure us we won't ever want or need to refinish it.

This is Oscar working miracles in the laundry room. The travertine is ready for grout in the bathrooms and it looks great! It even makes the horrible 80's tile in the tub and counter look do-able. I don't have the before photos anymore, but the laundry room was horrible and torn linoleum, and the bathrooms were CARPET!
The guys are working really hard and we hope to moving in by the end of the month. It's gonna take another week to install the wood, then baseboards, then carpet in the bedrooms. So excited!
