Melanie's Cookies

My friend and visiting teacher, Melanie Bourne makes the best cookies ever! I finally got the recipe and made them tonight. SO good. I'll never use a different chocolate chip recipe again. The key is the brown sugar, the extra egg yolk and the milk chocolate chips.

Thick and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 Cups plus 2 TBSP all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
12 TBSP MELTED butter (melted then cooled to warm)
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg plus 1 egg yolk
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Directions:
Combine dry ingredients set aside.

Mix butter and sugars until thoroughly combined. Beat in egg, extra egg yolk and vanilla until combined. Add dry ingredients beat at low speed just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.

I cook mine with my convection oven setting at 350 for between 9-11 minutes.

I prefer the standard peanut butter chocolate chip cookies you make.

these are my favorite too, but instead with semi sweet chips. And please let me try your pb chocolate chip cookies that Ryan mentioned!
