Hiking Timp

We had a fantastic vacation to Utah. We drove all day, Wednesday July 2nd. On Thursday, July 3rd I hiked to the summit of Mount Timpanogos. It was amazing! Tim, Jenn, James and Cassie came. Jenn only wanted to go to the saddle, so Tim stayed with her there while James, Cass and I kept hiking to the top. I didn't love it like I thought I would. The height was a little overwhelming for me and I felt a little dizzy and light-headed. The way back my legs also got pretty sore and my feet starting hurting in my brand new hiking boots. We had a hard time with the snow, too. Cass and James both slipped at different times and had to scramble. It took us about 11 hours because of the added challenge of the snow. It was beautiful throughout the entire hike, with amazing views from the saddle and the summit. I recommend interested hikers do it at least once. Once is enough for me.

James was not affected by the height at all! Look at him!

Somebody had written this on the wall in the little shelter at the summit. I thought it was funny. And true.

The view on the way up during the first few miles. We were too tired to look much on the way down, but everything was so green and pretty on the way up.

Us at the summit. I mostly stayed under the little shelter there, but Cass coaxed me out for a selfie. I didn't really enjoy standing up there!
