My sister Cassie was adopted at birth. She has always been curious about her birth family and recently pursued finding her birth mother. She wrote a letter to Judge Kennedy, who, for whatever reason, decided to open her birth records!
It has been such an exciting, and somewhat strange time for her (and us, too) as she has learned so much about where she came from.

| Cassie's birth mother, Joan |
We now have a name for one of our favorite birth mothers. Isn't she beautiful? I think she looks a little like our mom. And a lot like Cassie. It was so sad to learn she died from Lupas at a age 25. She never felt well after Cassie was born.
Cassie just returned from New York where she met Joan's sister, Aunt Sue. She spent lots of quality time with Sue and learned more about Joan and the rest of the family. To read more about their reunion, check out
Cassie's blog.

Birth families are really extended family. Such a blessing!

Your sister looks so much like her birth mom, but also like you, so amazing! And I love putting a face to all of these people. So cool!
Thanks Helen! You are the reason I dared go forward with this.
