Emily and I have been taking parent-tot swimming lessons for the past several weeks. She loves splashing and the fun songs and even tolerates going under water. I have really loved our mommy-daughter time together and I think she's so adorable in her new little wet suit! However, yesterday our swim instructor was on the evening news and the clip reminded me that Emily is learning skills that will help keep her safe in water. I love the blog Helen!! What exactly did your doc say to do for sleep training? I know I've already taught Tyler bad habits--but he'll fall asleep within five min of rocking/nursing.
My friend Shelly designed the background for me, so I can't take credit.
About the sleep training: we are on week 2 of putting Emily to sleep after dinner and a bath. She still screams in her crib, but she's down from over an hour of crying to about 10-15 minutes before falling asleep. At first we would go in every 10 minutes or so to soothe her.
She still wakes up once a night occassionally, but I think it has helped her to be able to get herself to sleep in the middle of the night. Phase two is not giving her the bottle in the middle of the night if she wakes. We are going to start that soon.
