Utah Vacation

After the 50th was over, we got to relax and enjoy being at Grandma's!

After I got a speeding ticket on the way from Sacramento, I joined the girls in the back seat for movies and naps.
On Sunday the adults gathered at my moms to eat and visit with the newest member of our family, Aunt Susan. Sue is so fun! She has a great sense of humor and the best stories. We loved hearing about her marriage to Alvin Sloan (Big Al). Jenn played the piano and Suzi sang. It reminded me of our family nights before kids. It was nice! Our girls slept over at the Beutlers with a babysitter and didn't miss us a bit.

On Monday I took Ryan to the airport then went to the BYU bookstore and got us all new shirts. After I picked up the kids back at Grandma's we met Debbie at Jump On It to let the kids play. We invited Andre and Karen to Los Hermanos when we were finished. Long day, but super fun! After dinner Karen came to my parents and we visited and played Settlers of Catan. I think we've converted her!

Coloring with Jon at the restaurant.
Loves her new pink BYU shirt.
On Tuesday I met Traci and Angela at the Petersons for some volleyball. The kids loved playing with Carter, Zoey and gang and we paid a babysitter to play with them while we played and then went out to lunch. It was super fun!

Belle and Violet slept over at Grandmas on Tuesday night and the girls got to play Wednesday together. We took them to the splash pad in Springville and they had a great time.

On Wednesday we met Cass and Seth and went to Yuba lake boating. It was great until I decided to try skiing. Totally hurt my hip. It still hurts.

Avery wore the jacket I wore as a kid. Too fun.
Cassie and Lucy on the tube.
Emily and Ruby having so much fun together! These two are becoming best buds.

Emily swimming with me before I nearly killed myself skiing.
On Thursday we went to Trafalga with Debbie and then I left the kids with Grandma and Grandpa while I met my sisters for dinner at Paradise Bakery. So fun!

Grandma entertained the girls Thursday evening on the four wheeler and the slide. My moms flowers looked so pretty! Actually the entire canyon was beautiful and especially green for August.
On Friday we had our Seven Peaks day and cousin sleepover. Way super fun.  Everyone stayed a while on Saturday and played games and we put a puzzle together.

Grandpa's pancakes for breakfast.
On Sunday after church I left Avery with Grandma and Grandpa so Emily and I could visit her birth parents. First we saw birth dad B's new house. Then we visited birth mom and her entire family at her mom's house. It was so great to see them again! I also packed up the car so that we could head home on Monday.

Driving the girls home by myself was not that great, but we survived and it was so worth the trouble. It was difficult to come home this time. I am sad we aren't there for all the birthdays and holidays and cousin days and get-togethers. But, because we come for a week at a time, we really get to party and enjoy everyone. I love our visits home.
