Relief

Last night I received a text from my sister Jennifer and immediately burst into tears. Earlier Sunday morning we received news that her daughter Isabelle, one of her two-year-old twins, had accidentally fallen from their second story hotel room. She was lifeless on the ground after falling on her face and shoulder. After evaluation from medics, she was life flighted from Rock Springs to Primary Children's Medical Center because they had discovered a brain bleed. Amazingly she had no broken bones.

I was in Sun Valley, Idaho playing in a little volleyball tournament. We had just easily won our second match when I received this text from Jenn. "Belle is doing well. The bleeding is minimal. The doctors are encouraged by this and say there will be no lasting effects." What a relief. And a miracle. And a blessing.

Belle is finally off her ventilator, breathing on her own, and got released from ICU today. She is in a normal room now and can have visitors. Jenn finally got to hold her today.

I am home from Sun Valley now and excited to go and see Jenn and Belle for myself to hug them. Emily and I will also get to spend a little more time with Violet this week, which will be fun, too.

On a lighter note, we won in Sun Valley. Got a bunch of free stuff and loved our free Colbie Caillat concert. She was crazy good live. Sun Valley is a beautiful place. I want to take Ryan and Emily there sometime.
