Moab Half Marathon

We had a lot of fun in Moab this weekend! The race went well. Debbie and I ran the half marathon and Andre and Colleen ran the 5 mile race. It was freezing cold at the start, so we started the race with lots of layers on and finished the race in pants and short sleeves. It was nice to cover my white legs. I finished just 2 minutes over my time from last year, which made me happy because it was tough to train post shoulder surgery.

It was fun to share the weekend with Ryan and Emily, too. I usually leave them home because it is just easier, but Emily is getting old enough to really get excited about family vacations. We were only a block away from home when she started saying "wee! this is fun!". We stayed in a condo with my parents and next door to Debbie's family. Emily enjoyed attention from Grandma and Grandpa and playing with Daniel's toys. Today we finished the weekend with a quick drive through Arches. It was a beautiful day and Emily loved finding all the red rocks. She kept talking about the balancing rocks on the way home.

I have lots of fun memories of our trips to Arches. I remember the one we took with Jenni and you girls memorized all the names of the sandstone layers, just for fun. It is fun to see photos of a new generation enjoying the same places we did.
