Ruth Beckstrom

Our family friend/neighbor/second mom passed away. Ruth Beckstrom lived next door to us on Sterling Drive. We loved the Beckstroms and spent lots of time with them. While I was closer to Jonena and Marta, Ruth was present for many fond memories of my childhood. She was smart, kind, honest and present.

Although we were sad about the news, my family really enjoyed her funeral. Jonena used Ruth's sky miles to help Todd come from Kentucky. Ryan was generous in letting me purchase flights for Emily, Avery and I to fly in as well. We were hoping to drive, but some flooding damaged I-15 and we splurged on flights. Here are a few photos from the funeral.

This is my cousin Cindy Phillips and her family. They bought our house on Sterling drive and became Ruth's family as well.

Cass had to leave before we got this photo taken. But Jonena and Marta were like our other sisters growing up. It's too bad it took a funeral to get us back together.
